Frequently asked questions

Beijing includes a hutong courtyard visit and a short tai chi class at the Temple of Heaven. Xi'an includes a small clay-warrior workshop and time to try Hanfu at the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.

Both visit the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors and Shanghai. This 10-day tour adds Guilin and Yangshuo, with a Li River boat and time in the countryside.

A high-speed train runs from Beijing to Xi'an in about 4.5 to 5.5 hours. A flight of about 2 hours reaches Guilin. The Li River boat toward Yangshuo takes about 4.5 hours, and a later flight of about 2 to 2.5 hours reaches Shanghai.

From about December to March the water can run low, so the boat may use another pier or a shorter stretch. The guide confirms the pier a few days ahead. The karst section stays on the plan.
